Conoil Plc is a downstream oil and gas company headquartered in Lagos and one of Nigeria's foremost petroleum marketing companies. The company began operations in 1927 under the name Shell Company of Nigeria, later becoming Shell Company of West Africa, before being incorporated as a private limited liability company in 1960. It was later known as National Oil and Chemical Marketing Plc (NOLCHEM) before taking its current name in January 2003. The company markets refined petroleum products and manufactures and markets lubricants and liquefied petroleum gas through a network of over 300 distribution outlets nationwide. It reports three segments. White Products covers premium motor spirit, aviation turbine kerosene, dual-purpose kerosene, low-pour fuel oil and automotive gasoline. Lubricants covers transport and industrial lubricants, greases, process oil and bitumen. The LPG segment trades bulk and packed liquefied petroleum gas along with cylinders and valves.
