What Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals does

Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc manufactures and markets pharmaceutical and animal health products in Nigeria. It was originally incorporated in 1957 as Pfizer Products Nigeria and took its current identity following a management buy-out in 1997. Its manufacturing plant is at Oregun in Lagos, established in 1976, and is described as one of the most modern pharmaceutical facilities in West Africa. (The company had established Nigeria's first pharmaceutical manufacturing plant at Aba in 1957, though it was destroyed during the civil war.)

The product range spans three categories. The ethical and pharmaceutical range includes the flagship CIKLAVIT for sickle cell disease, alongside Normoretic, Flexodene and Tiocosid. The consumer range includes NCP, Pyrantin, Obron-6, Homtamin G and Pancemol. The animal health range covers veterinary treatments for poultry and cattle diseases, marketed under brands including Neimycin, Neiva Stress, and Neimeth Piperazine. The company has business interests in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and the Gambia, with regional exports across West Africa. It employs approximately 212 people.

For 2025 revenue reached N7.4 billion, up 64% from N4.5 billion, with profit before tax of N1.49 billion, a 274% year-on-year improvement from a loss of N854.43 million in 2024, and profit after tax of N976.4 million against a loss of N885.3 million. Gross profit rose 71% to N3.35 billion, operating profit surged to N2.71 billion from N18.89 million, and earnings per share recovered to 22.98 kobo from -20.72 kobo. A foreign exchange gain of N48 million reversed a N2 billion loss from the prior year, while a debt restructuring injected N6.7 billion in new financing and repaid N2.2 billion, stabilising the group's financing structure.
